"We must shift our emphasis from economic efficiency to life efficiency" - Kofi Annan
• "Sustainable agriculture is not just about growing crops, it's about caring for the soil, the water, the air, and all the living things that depend on them," - Vandana Shiva.
In continuation with our efforts to promote Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resource Management, DISA added the concept and practices of Climate Smart Agriculture in the programme Interventions. At present DISA is mentoring 49 Farmer Clubs with 557 Small Farmers at Basti Sadar, Harraiya, Mithaval and Ikauna Blocks. Through these Farmers we have promotion of Package of Practices for improving agriculture, enhancing income sources and maintain an eco-system which is sustainable. Our efforts are for creating an Eco System with Climate-friendly Villages and People.
Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) is an approach that aims to transform food systems by simultaneously increasing productivity and incomes, adapting to climate change, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Besides the members of the Farmer Clubs, DISA facilitated and collaborated with three Farmers Producer Companies in Mithaval Block of Siddharthnagar District and Jogia Bujurg Farmers Producer Company has been already incorporated and other two are in the process of incorporation. They will promote Climate Smart Agriculture.
